The Ankh symbol—sometimes referred to as the key of life or the key of the nile—is representative of eternal life in Ancient Egypt. Created by Africans long ago, the ankh is said to be the first--or original--cross.

 

Proverb: "Life, prosperity and health” was a common phrase in Ancient Egypt. It was often written after the names of kings.These three magical words were regular at the end of letters. They were truly words of great blessings.

 

Our kinaras are handcrafted in Ghana, West Africa. Each kinara has been hand carved from a solid piece of wood into a cultural symbol that reflects the significance of the holiday and our history.

 

Due to the nature of handmade crafts, sizing may slightly vary. Our handcrafted kinaras generally measure: 11.5”(L) x 2.5”(W) x 6” (H).
