Nobody likes living in bondage
The Mkeka is an important, yet overlooked, item in your Kwanzaa celebration display. It is a straw mat that represents the foundation of which all else rests upon. It displays the Kinara, the Mishumaa Saba, the Kikombe Cha Umoja and the harvest in the celebration days. This Mkeka is made from strips of bamboo woven with rayon fabric. Which makes this mat a truly beautiful piece. Bamboo is a natural material with variations in color which might vary from the photograph. Each Mkeka generally measures: 16.0”(W) x 13.”(L).
