The Unity Cup

The Kikombe Cha Umoja, The Unity Cup serves two functions during Kwanzaa. It is used to pour the Tambiko, the Libation, for the ancestors. Secondly, it signifies the unity of the family and community which is the core and foundation from which all else springs. Celebrants drink from this cup during the lighting.

This is a perfect addition to your Kwanzaa celebration and can be passed down as a family heirloom. This Kikombe Cha Umoja is hand carved from wood and stained. Which makes this cup a truly unique piece and there are slight variations in size and decoration.

Our Kwanzaa Kikombe Cha Umoja generally measures: 5”(H) with a 3” diameter. Enscribed with "Kwanzaa", it is also decorated with the colors of Kwanzaa, red, black and green.

Our Kenyan Kikombe Cha Umoja generally measures: 6”(H) with a 2.75” diameter. It is decorated with the Kenyan Flag which features the colors of Kwanzaa, red, black and green which have its roots in the Pan African Flag.  It also features the Maasai shield which symbolizes defense with stripes of white symbolizing unity and peace.

Our undecorated Kikombe Cha Umoja generally measures: 5”(H) with a 2.5” diameter.
